Star USA Has Apple Pay!
You may now use your Star USA debit card with Apple Pay, the easy, secure, and private way to pay.
Use Apple Pay with iPhone 6 to pay in stores without swiping your cards and in apps without entering payment and contact information. Just pay with a single touch of your finger using Touch ID.
With Apple Pay, instead of using your actual debit card numbers when you add your card, a unique Device Account Number is assigned, encrypted and securely stored. And when you make a purchase, the Device Account Number alongside a transaction-specific dynamic security code is used to process your payment. So your actual debit card numbers are never shared by Apple with merchants or transmitted with payment.
In addition, paying with Apple Pay is private as the cashier never sees your name, card numbers or security code.

New EMV Chip Cards Provide More Security
You will soon be receiving new debit cards with an added feature. The re-issued cards will contain an embedded chip that uses secure technology to make it more difficult to copy your account information which provides more security against fraud.
Your new chip card will replace your existing Star USA debit card which will expire 15 days after the receipt of the new card. Please activate your EMV debit card as soon as it is received.
You will also receive detailed instructions on how to use your cards at merchants with updated EMV terminals. If the new terminals are not in place, the debit card will still work if it is swiped.
If you have your existing Star USA debit card on file with any merchant that you have authorized to automatically charge your account, you will need to update the new card number, expiration date and CVV code with that business.

Skip A Pay For Vacation Days!
The holiday season is once again upon us and if you would like to increase your spending power, why not consider Star USA’s Skip-A-Pay program? From November 2 through December 31, 2015, qualified members may skip one payment per qualified loan. Just complete a brief “Skip-A-Pay” application for each loan payment you wish to skip during this holiday season.
To qualify for this program, you must be a member in good standing and all loans must be current. Mortgage loans, home equity loans and VISA loans are not eligible for the Holiday Skip-A-Pay program. For each requested loan, there must be at least six months of satisfactory payment history. A $30 loan processing fee is required per requested Skip-A-Pay.

International Credit Union Day - "People Helping People"
On October 15, credit unions around the world will celebrate International Credit Union Day. Since 1948, on the third Thursday of October, credit unions have recognized the simple idea that by working together, people can improve their financial well-being. This year’s theme for International Credit Union Day is "People Helping People."
Since the 1850’s when the first credit union was organized in Germany, people have banded together through these financial cooperatives to overcome difficult financial times. As a result of this cooperative effort, there are now more than 200 million credit union members worldwide with 100 million of them found in the United States.
At its most basic level, a credit union is people pooling their money to provide each other with affordable loans which is truly the meaning of people helping people. That is why on October 15, Star USA will be celebrating International Credit Union Day.
Stop by any of our branches on Thursday, October 15 for refreshments as your credit union will be honoring and recognizing the value and importance of the credit union system in today’s financial marketplace.
